More Desk Yoga!

I know most people with 9-5 jobs spend a lot of time at a desk. I also know that most people don’t have one of those fancy new treadmill desk to stay active. That’s why I love sharing yoga poses that you can do at work. It just takes a couple of minutes of moving and stretching to relieve stress in both your body and mind. Give these two a try.

IMG_2113Seated Half Moon Stretch:

  • Sit tall with both feet resting on the floor.
  • Take a breath in and sweep one hand or both hands overhead. If using both hands, interlace your fingers, leaving the index fingers extended into a steeple grip.
  • On your exhale, side bend to the right.
  • Hold for 3-5 breaths.
  • Inhale to come back to center.
  • Repeat this with a side bend to the left.




IMG_2111 Seated Spinal Twist:

  • Sit tall with both feet resting on the floor.
  • Inhale, and on your exhale, twist to the right, placing your left hand to the outside of your right leg, and your right hand on the back of your chair.
  • Keep your feet grounded and your frontal hip bones pointing forward.
  • Take 3-5 breaths here.
  • Unwind on an exhale, and repeat the pose twisting to the left.
